In a press statement after a meeting with President Yudhoyono, Yamasaki said Japan was the ninth biggest foreign investor in Indonesia.
"By putting the two countries` economic cooperation into effect, we would like to step up our investment value in Indonesia," Yamasaki said through an interpreter.
The Japanese Parliamentary League chairman stated that Indonesia and Japan had agreed to step up their economic cooperation.
However, Yamasaki said Japan`s intention to increase its investment value should be accompanied by the Indonesian government`s efforts to improve the domestic business and economic climate.
During the visit to Indonesia, the delegate of Japan`s Parliamentary League also held a meeting and joint seminar with the House of Representatives (DPR)`s Commission I.
Yamasaki also told the President about the results of his meeting and seminar with the House Commission I during their meeting at the presidential office.
